Causes of gas leaks

Gas leaks are a serious safety hazard that may lead to accidents such as poisoning, fire or explosion. Here are some common causes of gas leaks:

Aging equipment

After long-term use of gas equipment, pipes, valves and other parts may wear, age or corrode, resulting in reduced sealing performance, which may cause gas leaks. If old equipment lacks timely maintenance and updates, it will also increase the risk of gas leaks.

Improper operation

When using gas, improper operation, such as excessive force on the valve opening and closing, loose pipe connections, etc., may cause gas leaks. In addition, when using gas for cooking or heating, if the operation is not standardized, it is also easy to cause gas leaks.

Inadequate maintenance

Gas equipment requires regular maintenance and care. If the necessary maintenance is lacking, it may cause equipment failure or damage, which in turn causes gas leaks. If household users do not pay enough attention to the daily inspection and maintenance of gas equipment, the risk of gas leaks will also increase.

Damage to indoor gas pipelines

If indoor gas pipelines are exposed to corrosive substances for a long time, or if the anti-corrosion paint (layer) of the pipeline falls off and is not repainted in time, it may cause pipeline corrosion, thereby causing gas leakage.

Damage to gas meter

If the gas meter is used beyond its expiration date, the internal components may age; or it may be damaged by external forces, causing damage to the gas meter body or joints, thereby causing gas leakage.

Damage to fuel appliances

If fuel appliances such as gas stoves and water heaters are used for too long, the rubber hose may age and cause gas leakage. In addition, if the fuel appliance itself is a "three-no" product, or is damaged by human external force such as contact and friction, it may also cause gas leakage.

Unauthorized modification of gas pipes

Some users may privately modify gas pipelines or add tees in order to pursue indoor beauty or to increase gas facilities, which will also increase the risk of gas leakage.

The above are some common causes of gas leakage. Understanding these causes will help us take corresponding preventive measures in our daily lives to reduce the occurrence of gas leakage.
