Types of environmental monitoring

Environmental monitoring is an indispensable part of environmental protection work. It tracks changes in environmental quality and determines the level of environmental quality by detecting the content and emission of various substances in the environment, providing a basis and guarantee for environmental management, pollution control and other work. According to different monitoring purposes and objects, environmental monitoring can be divided into many types.

Monitoring monitoring

Research monitoring

Research monitoring is carried out to study the changing laws of pollutants and ecosystems in the environment. This type of monitoring is usually highly professional and academic, and may involve complex experimental design and data analysis, aiming to provide data support for scientific research.

Routine monitoring and special purpose monitoring

In addition to the above classification, environmental monitoring can also be simply divided into routine monitoring and special purpose monitoring. Routine monitoring is a continuous and systematic monitoring of environmental quality, while special purpose monitoring is a temporary or special monitoring of specific events or problems.

Environmental quality monitoring and pollution source monitoring

According to the different monitoring objects, environmental monitoring can also be divided into environmental quality monitoring and pollution source monitoring. Environmental quality monitoring focuses on the overall quality of the environment, while pollution source monitoring focuses on identifying and evaluating specific pollution sources and their emissions.
